Washing Solution

Our HMS Story

HMS sustainably removes indigo from jeans (sustainable denim wash), creating the beautiful vintage looks and fades we all love and want so much.

We used our decades of experience in the industry to create a product that is mutually beneficial for both the denim industry and the environment.

Why HMS for Sustainable Stone Washing?

HMS gives better effects in less time than pumice. The effect difference between pumice stone and HMS grows EXPONENTIALLY as you use them or prolong your wash cycles.

To introduce sustainable stone washing, denim mills must adopt sustainable jean wash particles and products like HMS.

We have created different sizes of stones based on our customers’ demands. Each size is best for different fabrics and different stone washing processes. By the way, we have different colors too!

Because HMS possesses pores externally and internally, the abrasion is uniform throughout the use and remains effective until it diminishes completely.

HMS stands out as the sole abrasive in the environment-friendly "green" range of EIM SCORE products from Jeanologia. On the other hand, pumice stone finds its place in the "red" range!

HMS is made up of recycled pumice dust and biodegradable components.

HMS requires 20% less water per load since it does not soak up water.

HMS does not require rinsing after stone washing because it does not leave dust on the garments.

In a 60-minute process, 12-16 grams of HMS is reduced per garment.

1 MT of HMS washes 70K to 72K garments.

This eco-friendly stone reduces water consumption by up to 60%.

HMS minimizes energy consumption as it works in cold water also (due to which no heating is needed).

    Customer Feedback

“We are glad to see that, after a long time, such a good product came in the market as a sustainable replacement of Pumice Stone”

“HMS PRODUCTS ARE GREAT PUMICE REPLACEMENTS, PROBABLY THE BEST OUT ON THE MARKET IF COMPARED WITH ALL THE OTHER SIMILAR PRODUCTS THAT I TESTED SO FAR (AND I DID A LOT OF TESTS....)”

“HMS is actually over performing in our test results. We were able to reduce wash times and rinse cycles since it contaminates less the load due to its low degradation ratio. And they definitely last much longer. Definitely worth considering!”

“Washing with HMS stones is running very well, we started to use on new delivery and no difference compared to sample”

“The effect is good as pumice stone”

    Common Myths About Denim

Denim jeans are something that is popular around the world and across any social division. Considering their popularity across the world it would be natural to have certain myths about them not all of which are true.

    Container Crisis

As Asia began to emerge from lockdown, NorthAmerica started locking down, so empty containers weren’t reloaded at the same rate as full containers were arriving in North American ports. The overall result of this was a large number of empty containers in North America, but not enough in Asia, and Europe.

      Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

      What is stone washing?

Stone washing is a garment washing process that involves using abrasive stones to achieve a faded or worn-in appearance on denim or other fabrics.

Can stone washing be applied to materials other than denim?

While stone washing is commonly associated with denim, it can be applied to other fabrics like cotton, linen, or even certain types of synthetics. However, the effect may vary depending on the fabric’s composition and structure.

      Who invented HMS?

      Yavuz Baykan

He completed his undergraduate and doctorate degrees at Ankara University, Faculty of Agriculture, and in 1994, he worked as the factory manager in the establishment of Baykan Moda Lotus Jeans. From that year until 2021, he was the general manager of Baykan Moda, making the first use of many sustainable innovations in Turkey in this almost 30-year period (for example, the first use of ozone technology in the denim sector in Turkey), and making these products easier to integrate into the Turkish denim sector. Due to his engineering background, he developed many chemicals and tools for denim washing and other processes, in his own laboratory in the factory, and many factories in Turkey took these products and applications as an example. After his five-year-long R&D between 2012-2017, the patent for HMS got approved in 2020. As of then, Mr. Baykan has completely devoted himself to HMS.

Where do your sustainability claims come from?
