Built from denim experience. Made to change stonewashing.

HMS was created by Baytech Sustainable Technologies, a family-led company combining decades of denim washing expertise with a new generation’s push for cleaner fashion production.

OUR STORY

HMS began with a simple question:

Can we keep the authentic abrasion of pumice without accepting the sludge, waste, and operational problems that come with it?

Yavuz Baykan brought more than 30 years of denim production and washing experience to that question. After years of R&D, HMS was developed as a patented reusable stonewashing medium.

In 2020, Beyza Baykan founded Baytech to bring HMS to denim manufacturers, brands, and creative communities around the world.

Today, HMS is used across industrial, educational, and creative settings, helping the denim industry rethink one of its most waste-heavy processes.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Responsible washing should be the new standard, not the exception.

We believe denim should keep its character.

The fades, highs and lows, worn-in edges, and lived-in feel matter. But the way we create them needs to change.

HMS exists to help the industry move away from outdated, waste-heavy processes and toward solutions that work in real factories, real collections, and real creative spaces.

DENIM SUBCULTURE TIMELINE

Denim has always belonged to the ones who push culture forward.

Denim begins as a fabric built for durability.

Cowboys and workwear

1950s rebels

Denim becomes attitude.

Worn-in denim becomes casual and sun-faded.

1960s surfers

1970s hippies

Denim becomes self-expression.

Denim gets louder, rougher, and more personal.

1980s punks

1990s grunge

Denim rejects polish and embraces wear.

Denim becomes movement, impact, and daily life.

2000s skaters

HMS brings that rebellious energy into responsible washing.

Today

HMS offers talks, workshops, and hands-on sessions for brands, factories, schools, trade shows, and retail spaces.
